Iran says it is ‘not looking for war’

이란이 ‘전쟁을 계획하고 있지 않다’고 말했다.

The head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said yesterday that the country was “not looking for war,” appearing to signal that it would not escalate tensions with the U.S.

이란 혁명 수비대의 대장은 어제 미국과의 긴장을 확대하지 않을 것이라는 신호를 보이며 이란이 전쟁을 계획하고 있지 않다고 말했다.

But he also said that Iran was prepared to respond if attacked.

“We hear threatening words from American officials,” Gen. Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the military organization, was quoted as saying by Iranian state news media.

Salami’s comments came after President Biden said that he had decided on a response to the weekend drone attack that killed three American soldiers and injured more than 40 others in Jordan.
